Christmas Eve at Luton Hoo

I grew up close to the Luton Hoo Estate where I have had Morning Coffee many times and used the spa in the past but never had I stayed the night, although this was a dream of mine and you’ll even find it on my Hotel Wish List. Through extremely fortunate circumstances I found myself and CLB staying there on Christmas Eve; the most exciting evening of the year and we were staying at Luton Hoo – dream come true!

Upon check-in we were showed to our room; the stunning Sir Harold Suite complete with an elegant living room, beautiful views of the estate and an incredible four poster bed.

Our Mansion State Suite came with everything you’d possible need, from robes to shaving kits and everything in between including a complimentary poinsettia plant 🙂

In the evening after making use of the spa facilities; pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna we dined in Adam’s Brasserie where we had a scrumptious roast and a lovely bottle of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. When it was time to head back to the Mansion House we jumped in an estate taxi and were whizzed back to our palace of a room.

Come Christmas morning and like a little kid I ran around the sitting room, opened my stocking, dined on croissants and of course took a bubble bath before it was time to wave goodbye to the place and see my family for a Christmas Day of fun and games.

From the moment we arrived to the minute we drove away we were treated like royalty; from the reception staff to the concierge, nothing was too much and it really topped off what was an already incredible stay.

Yes this is the sort of thing we want to do around our environs too… because what is nearby is often overlooked!

You’re so lucky to be from a place so close to this beauty! It sounds like it was an amazing place to spend Christmas and if I’m ever in the area I would love to check it out. Thanks for sharing!
