A Weekend in Brighton

It was recently CLB’s birthday and true to form I didn’t want to buy him material items and instead gifted him an adventure; a weekend in Brighton!

After a walk along the sea front we had lunch on the sea front at Coalition before checking in to our hotel – I initially booked us into the Fab Guest House but after issues arose when we arrived we actually moved to Hotel du Vin. Hotel du Vin was lovely and the staff were so friendly and welcoming, we even had our own terrace and were given complimentary champagne to mark CLB’s birthday.

We got ready early evening to head out to the pier for fish and chips at Palm Court Restaurant before hitting the Arcades for the 2p and claw machines amongst others…this is my ultimate favourite activity at the seaside!

That evening I had booked at comedy night at Komedia, the late show was at 10pm so post pier we had a quick drink at William the Fourth then hit the show. There were two comedians on the bill that evening – Ian Moore and Dan Nightingale – and both were equally hilarious.

Sunday came and this called for a mooch around The Lanes and further amusement games before an incredibly tasty lunch at Silo. This restaurant’s policy is zero waste and their Sunday set menu is like nothing you’ve tasted before, I couldn’t recommend it any more highly.

Opposite Silo are a couple of amazing antique/curios stores which are well worth a visit, good job we didn’t have the car with us otherwise it would have been filled with items we really have no need for!

Before we knew it it was time to head back to the station. At only 1.5hrs from London and you get to be at the coast, basking in the sun and eating fish and chips on the beach, idyllic. Brighton, I’ll be back soon.
