Every year myself and some girl friends venture up to North Wales for a long weekend, and over the years we’ve been to some pretty cool places so I wanted to share with you my Top 5 Anglesey Activities:
1. Rib Ride
This fast ride explores the Menai Straits in an exhilarating way, cruising along at high speeds taking in the views of Anglesey from the water whilst learning about the local inhabitants and making donuts in the water!
2. Kayaking on the Menai Straits
My friend is fortunate to have a few kayaks at her property and it is always super fun taking them out on the water and exploring the Menai Straits at a slower pace. (Tip: head to the Gazelle pub for a drink by the shore as a refresher before heading back).
3. Saltcote Tours
On the latest trip we ventured to the newly opened Halen Môn to learn all about how they get their salt and taste just how good it is. There is a gift shop too so you can stock up on salty goods to your hearts content.
4. Beach Day
Many wouldn’t usually put beach and North Wales in the same sentence right? Wrong! Last time I was in Anglesey it was during the UK heatwave and we needed to be by the coast. Wales actually has some lovely beaches and the one we visited, Church Bay, is a perfect example.
5. Dinner at Dylan’s
Fancy a tasty dinner? Look no further than Dylan’s in Menai Bridge for fantastic seafood and idyllic seafront views.
Yet, having visited a dozen times, there is still so much more to see and I will endeavour to tick off Beaumaris Castle and Gaol, and Breakwater Country Park off the list in the coming years. Just across the water on the mainland is Zip World too, which I can’t wait to experience one day soon.
