After two amazing weeks travelling around Japan it was time for one final night in Tokyo, and to say goodbye to this amazing country.
As Hakone is only approx. 80km from Tokyo, our Shinkansen journey back to the capital using our Japan Rail passes was pretty quick.
For our final night in Japan I was keen to try a capsule hotel, seeing as they are so popular in Japan. Centrally located Capsule Hotel Transit Shinjuku was the perfect choice to lay our heads. The dorm spaces are split by gender and our little capsules were actually surprisingly comfortable!
Back in Tokyo for one more night we took the opportunity to head back to Golden Gai for drinks and dinner to see out our time in this wonderful country.
It was a fabulous night, and thankfully we didn’t get rained on this time!
The next morning we were up early to head to the Narita Airport, where we took a flight with Jin Air to South Korea to spend a long weekend in Seoul.
To sum up our time in Japan; the incredibly friendly and helpful locals, the amazing food, the culture and traditions…what isn’t to love? I cannot wait to visit again and hope it isn’t too long until I can. I am constantly thinking of ways to get back there, and planning out potential future trips to see more of the country as we barely touched the surface.
